About this Special Issue
The Chief Editor of Advances in Drug & Alcohol Research is delighted to welcome submissions to the first Inaugural Special Issue of the journal.
The Inaugural Issue solicits forward-looking contributions in the form of reviews, mini-reviews, and original research articles that describe the latest research contributions to the field of drug and alcohol research, as well as recent developments in the science of addiction. Areas of research welcomed include work on alcohol, cannabis and cannabinoids, hallucinogens, opiates, psychostimulants, and psychiatric co-morbidities, the critical role of drugs and alcohol in the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as perspectives on the increasing prevalence of food and digital addictions. This Special Issue is brought together with the aim of presenting research that work toward the broad goal of alleviating and ending the global burden of suffering due to drug and alcohol addiction. Additional contributions presenting the histories of the International Drug Abuse Research Society (IDARS) and the International Narcotics Research Conference (INRC) will be included.
