Acta Biochimica Polonica (ABP) is a multidisciplinary Open Access journal that publishes premier research in the field of biochemistry. ABP is the official journal of Polskie Towarzystwo Biochemiczne (Polish Biochemical Society).

Led by Prof. Grzegorz Węgrzyn from the University of Gdansk, ABP welcomes research contributions in the various domains of biochemistry, which bridge the gap between scientific discovery and clinical application. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Enzymology and metabolism
- Membranes and bioenergetics
- Gene structure and expression
- Protein, nucleic acid, and carbohydrate structure and metabolism

The journal welcomes submissions that support and advance the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being - Contributions to medical sciences for better health outcomes and disease treatments.
- SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure - Promoting innovation in biochemical fields and related industries.
- SDG 4: Quality Education - Providing educational resources globally, enhancing education in biochemistry.

Manuscripts that do not focus on biochemistry or its direct applications are not suitable for publication in this journal.

ABP is committed to advancing developments in the field of biochemistry by allowing unrestricted access to articles and communicating scientific knowledge to researchers and the public alike, to enable the scientific breakthroughs of the future.
