The Simposio Nacional sobre Control de la Degradación y Recuperación de Suelos (CONDEGRES), organized every three years by the Spanish Soil Science Society, is a cornerstone event in the field of soil science in Spain. Its tenth edition, hosted in Burgos from June 24-27, 2024, featured diverse and interconnected topics addressing critical challenges and presenting innovative solutions in key areas for EU policy, such as soil biodegradation and bioremediation.
This Special Issue brings together significant research presented at CONDEGRES 2024, with a focus on bioremediation technologies, innovative agricultural and forestry practices, sustainable fertilization methods, and organic waste recycling. Together, these approaches provide promising strategies to mitigate soil pollution, enhance soil functionality, and promote long-term ecosystem sustainability.
