About this Special Issue
The field of medical genomics has seen an unprecedented influx of data from high-throughput genotyping studies and candidate gene association studies. Nevertheless, making optimal use of these data for disease diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, and therapeutic strategies remains a major challenge. Comprehensive and integrated analysis of these data could greatly improve our understanding of disease genomics. The Special Issue not only seeks to address the analytical needs in integrating data from multiple studies, but also encourages the contribution of new data from the fields of genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics to provide a comprehensive platform for the interpretation and synthesis of data on various diseases. Reviews that provide comprehensive insights into these areas are also welcome. Topics to consider include, but not limited to, the following:
- Genetic and genomic studies of human diseases
- Integrative multi-omics studies of diseases
- Meta-analytical integration of genetic and genomic data
- The use of bioinformatics and computational biology in deciphering disease mechanisms
- Genomics of drug response and toxicity
- Microbial genomics
- Metagenomics
