About this Special Issue

Diagnostic Microbiology is advancing rapidly owing to new methods and new diagnostic tools and equipment.

This special issue invites manuscripts from Medical Scientists working in the field of diagnostic microbiology who can share updates in scientific endeavour. This may be either a review of current methods and algorithms for the diagnosis of infectious diseases or a research paper, functional or mechanistic study reporting on the role of the laboratory in both the management of infectious diseases and the epidemiology of infections.
