About this Special Issue
World Soil Day 2022 (from the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations) and its "Soils: Where Food Begins" campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being, addressing the growing challenges in soil management, raising awareness about it and encouraging society to improve its health.
In this Special Issue, the Spanish Journal of Soil Science is seeking papers on how soil research affects food production and wider society needs. We are looking for original research, review articles, opinion pieces or short communications on the following topics that are being discussed as part of World Soil Day:
• Importance of soil diversity
• Soil Restoration within an Agro-Forestry context
• Pesticide remediation in farm soils
• Soil protection strategies
• Solutions for innovative agricultural systems
• Green chemistry for soil regeneration
• Harnessing biodiversity for better agronomy
• Innovations to reduce and remediate farm soil pollution
• Soil Conservation Imperative. Today’s challenges
• Any other topics relating to soil science in food and agronomy
