Glimpsing New Research in Soil Science

About this Special Issue

This Special Issue aims to bring together new research in soil science from the frontiers of knowledge in the field including cutting-edge technologies and emerging or changing paradigms. We welcome contributions on:

- Current hot-spots in soil research
- New techniques applied to soil observation and analysis
- The development of sensors for particular soil properties or surveys
- The application of concepts from other sciences (e.g. thermodynamics or ecology) to soil disciplines such as extra-terrestrial, subaqueous or special types of anthropic soils
- And any other aspect of soil science that looks promising and for which little literature exists.

To stimulate debate on new research in soil science the journal welcomes, authors and readers, to openly discuss the new concepts presented in the published articles in a special forum, with the participation of the Guest Editors. The conclusions from the discussions will be brought together in a summary concluding article to be published in the Special Issue. Authors of the papers discussed in the forum will be invited to co-author the summary article.

Keywords: soil science, thermodynamics, ecology, soil biodiversity, zero pollution, soil structure, soil health, soil multifunctionality
