In this context how do we foster artistic research methods and approaches for regenerative practices. We approach these complexities through the lens of microcosms of everyday lives, situated in the rural in which a microcosm of complexity is "graspable", and we step into this complexity with film-methodologies in itself a microcosm of ways of organizing that we can also grasp and reconfigure into seamless ways of making -as short-cuts.As such, we approach film-making as a learning space, by imagining a multi-place film festival not only as an event, but as a site of production, research and learning. As a framework for conversations and reflection, learning to see and to create relations between film narratives and the corresponding environment of the local areas. As part of a learning process, visiting students, filmmakers, artists are actively engaging with the relationships of place, of working with people through the making of new audio-visual material during and after the period of the emerging festival. Developing questions, insights, skills, potential solutions -a way to understand the value of on-site production and to propel and change perspectives with an audience as makers. This editorial is a preview into the spaces we are collectively making as part of a collaboration between KIT/NTNU and LAB Genalguacil. We are initially a small crew and network of people brought together by the desire to propel and change perspectives of filmmaking, innovation, ways of organising and the rural. To begin with we are relating to the qualities of everyday lives, with and from the rural municipality of Genalguacil, in a process of experimenting with shared filmmaking methodologies -that connect with needs in place. It is a work in progress, iterative, open as well as open-ended.
